GETTING THROUGH THE DAY/NIGHT
WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU WITH FREE CE CLASSES
Whether it’s 3pm or 3am, being on the frontlines with patients for the first time can be nerve-wracking! The Getting Through the Day and Getting Through the Night classes provide valuable guidance to help you transition from being a student to a working veterinarian.
Getting Through the Night CE course runs each summer, and Getting Through the Day CE course runs each Fall. Keep an eye out here for 2023 dates. Make sure you’re signed up for VIN Foundation updates to be notified.
Getting Through the Day helps new and recent grads looking for practical guidance as you venture into the unpredictable world of small animal general practice. It may also serve as a review for more experienced practitioners or as an introduction for those transitioning from other practice areas.
This is a multiple module series designed to give an overview of common cases/presentations in small animal day practice as well as insight into those important non-technical skills such as anxiety, empowerment, and obstacles in daily practice.
Getting Through the Night is primarily aimed at the new graduate who is faced with ER work, although any veterinarian may benefit from it. The bare essentials of common small animal ER cases are covered with an emphasis on real-world techniques, tips and tricks to get you (and your patients) through the night unscathed!
There is minimal emphasis on pathophysiology and a strong emphasis on diagnostic testing, client management, time management and therapy for various common emergencies. Common mistakes will be highlighted so YOU don’t make them and common pitfalls will be mentioned so YOU can avoid them.
Many revelations are made and many long-held beliefs will be shattered. This is a whirlwind magical tour through the whimsical world of blood and guts ER stuff! Wear your running shoes!
