VIN Foundation announces the second annual awardees of the Mike Dunn, DVM Veterinary Student Scholarship created by Becky Godchaux

Two veterinary school students have each been awarded $140,000 scholarships for the second year in a row, and the third annual scholarship is announced

Davis, CA: The VIN Foundation is excited to announce the Mike Dunn, DVM Veterinary Student Scholarship created by Becky Godchaux has awarded two veterinary school scholarships for Fall 2025. Each awardee will receive up to $35,000 per year, for a total of up to $140,000 per student for the duration of their attendance at veterinary school, up to four years. 

The two awardees are Natalie Conomos who will be attending the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, and Jack Scholovich who will be attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Natalie shared her excitement, “I am incredibly grateful to be a recipient of this scholarship. The generosity of Ms. Godchaux and the resources that the VIN Foundation provides to students like myself will be an enormous asset to my career goals of one day becoming a practice owner.” Jack Scholovich expressed, “I am beyond honored to be a recipient of this scholarship. Being an awardee means everything to me, and it truly feels like a culmination of all of the hard work that has gone into the last few years leading up to this point. I am greatly inspired by the mission of the VIN Foundation and am thankful to have individuals like Ms. Godchaux who believes in and supports the students who are striving to enter the veterinary profession.”

Animal lover Becky Godchaux created this scholarship in 2023 in recognition of her veterinarian, Dr. Mike Dunn. Ms. Godchaux’s goal with this scholarship is to nurture the creation of more veterinarians like Mike. As she says, “the happiness of my dogs is only as good as their health, and that is dependent on good veterinary care.” 

The VIN Foundation is honored to be the chosen home for this generous one-of-a-kind scholarship. Ms. Godchaux shared, “while I am supporting the students by providing the scholarship for the school tuition, it feels good to know the VIN Foundation is providing the support of helpful programs and tools to guide them through their careers and set them up for success.”

Ms. Godchaux has generously extended this scholarship for a third cohort of veterinary students entering Fall 2026. The 2026 annual Mike Dunn, DVM Veterinary Student Scholarship created by Becky Godchaux will open for submissions on July 28, 2025. The Mike Dunn, DVM Veterinary Student Scholarship created by Becky Godchaux, annually awards two students entering a United States veterinary school up to $35,000 each per year for a total of up to $140,000 each for four years. This scholarship is restricted to veterinary students who are committed to practicing companion animal veterinary medicine. Awardees will also receive mentorship and support via VIN Foundation programs through school and beyond, including mental wellness support, student debt support, and everything in between.

  1. I have had the honor of being a close friend to Becky Godchaux for some 35 years, it came as no surprise to me that she chose this particular field to so generously support.
    Congratulations to all the recipients, I can tell you the smiles on your faces can’t compare to hers.
