March 13, 2021: For the SAVMA 2021 Symposium, the VIN Foundation created a three-part webinar series of its popular Climbing Mt. Debt presentation with Dr. Tony Bartels. This webinar approaches student loans clinically, like any complex medical case. It starts with a good physical exam of your student loans, discusses strategies to minimize your remaining school costs, runs diagnostics based on your career plans, compares short and long-term treatment options for your student loans, and evaluates the best repayment strategy for your circumstances. It also explores veterinary incomes and financial wellness during and after school.
February 26, 2021: As COVID-19 impacts unfolded, the veterinary community found itself in uncharted territory. From canceled externships and limited in-person learning opportunities to curbside service and increased demand for veterinary care, concerns and questions around the new educational and patient care models arose. The VIN Foundation’s Rising Leaders Committee held a webinar to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on transitioning from the veterinary school classroom to clinics, and life as a practicing veterinarian. The panel included a clinical year veterinary student and new graduate veterinarians in different areas of practice.
